Hi everyone:
Just a quick follow-up as to the point I'm driving at with regards to
Lt. Cmdr. Tyris....
Here on Deep Space 4, we have a Moon Station and a Ground Station. I
command Drucari Moon Station while Commander Roe (you remember her from
her days on Capt. Picard's USS Enterprise, don't you?) is in command of
Drucari Ground Station. Lt. Seven Of Nine assists whenever and wherever
needed and acts as commanding officer as needed unless she is on
assignment from Starfleet.
I would NEVER put Commander Roe (or any other member of my crew for that
matter) in a position where they felt hosed or otherwise uncomfortable.
I would also NEVER put Ground Station in the hands of ANYONE lower
than a Lt. Commander should Commcander Roe's prescence ever be required
on Moon Station (Nor would I want that). Finally, should I ever lose
Commander Roe for some reason, I would NEVER put Ground Station in the
hands of a Lt. Commander on a permanent basis (Interim, yeah, but not
permanently).
The latter is what you seemed to have done on your ship (and went even
further by glorifying by attaching the EXECUTIVE OFFICER label to it).
As I said before, I wouldn't wanna be on your ship in the event of a
mutiny stemming from the issue.
But alas Captain, it's YOUR crew and YOUR ship.
While I'm sure you have your reasons for the unorthodox move regarding
Lt. Cmdr. Tyris, Captain Enor (and to take nothing away from Lt. Cmdr.
Tyris' credentials), you would be better served with a more traditional
commanding officer as your right hand person.
Again....Just my opinion (FWIW)
Cheers for now everyone
