A few mates and I have been kicking around the ultimate coverage of the TDF and reckon the once thing that is missing is the program that explains the race that is... We see so much each night (and early morning) of the stars, the scenery and the rolling post card that is France; but how about a dedicated program on what makes the tour tick. For instance, what are all the coloured motocycles and what does each colour do for job (OK we know the gendarmes ride in Blue but so does water while other drinks seem to be red and the officials ride Yellow etc....); but what is the pecking order for the cars on the road; and again what does each colour mean and how do they get from one place to the next overnight between stages; and a bit of a look at the caravan that precedes the peleton would be fantastic to see the whole excitement build as the peleton approaches etc....
