Default lvl 60 --- then what?

I am curious, as a lowly lvl 20 player, what there is do once someone has
achieved lvl 60? Does it get boring? Do you go on raids ganking the enemy
faction? Play dungeons mostly? Quit the game?

Raid. It's not that bad, if you find a good guild.
PvP.
Quest. Yes, there are 60 quests. The Onyxia chain, the BRD/LBRS/UBRS
chains, that get you keyed for the spire, then attuned for the Core, and
such. The Plaguelands has tons of quests as well, and Sithilus and
Winterspring are your areas at 60, for questing.
Work on your armor/weapons. Most folk have Tier 0/.5 at 60, and then
they begin the long effort to get Tier1 and Tier 2 and Zul Gurub rewards.
Grind rep for rewards.
Grind professions/gathering/loot
Go finish all the low level stuff you skipped, did'nt know about, or
sound like fun, like the Sprite Darter pet chain.

and lastly,

Truly learn your class. The game chanegs at 60, and you have to learn
how to survive and advance in the new post-60 game. Repecs will probably
be required, and if you're a warrior, you now get to learn how to really
tank, healers get to learn how to really heal, and rogues get to learn
how not to grab aggro. There's as much to learn/relearn at 60 as there
is 1-59.

It's a sudden disconnect, and a lot find they don't like the post 60
game, so they reroll alts.

My interest rises and falls, right now I'm disinterested, so i play once
a week for a few hours, last weekend I ran some guildies through BRD,
had a blast. Maybe in a few weeks/months I'll get interested again. It's
not a disgusted disinterest, juet more of a "meh". But i have a LOT of
stuff to do, at 60, that when I do jump back in, I won't be left
standing around IronForge.

Lvl 60 is really the start of the game, some of my online friends have
reported that they are at 100+ days played "at this level", and they are
still enjoying the game.

There are an enormous number of quests to do at level 60 as many 'end game'
dungeons become available. There is faction to be earned as you develop your
professions to an elite level (you need the faction to get the high-end
patterns/plans/formulas etc). There's more faction to be earned to get
access to über items. There are skills to be honed by participating in
dungeon raids and (if you choose) pvp raids.

Once you get to your high 50's, you'll be looking to get into every BRD,
BRS, Strat and Scholo party/raid you can in your endless quest for better
gear (95% of the best gear is BoP), and having dragged yourself to the
dungeon set 1/2 stage, you'll start looking for ZG and AQ20 raids to further
improve you equipment. When you've just about dried up that source, you be
looking to MC for your tier-1, then Rag/Ony/BWL for tier-2 and AQ40 for
other über gear. Then... the expansion.

Believe me, there is an enormous amount of content left at lvl 60.

Keeping in mind that not all warriors desire to be tanks, not all
priests desire to be healers, etc.

From a non-healer priest

you are a shadow priest and you like to deal damage and not heal and
everybody (warriors the most) hate you because you aren't their personal
healer

i've been in a few instances where the warrior thinks he can just go on and
on and on, not even pausing for mana breaks because he thinks he has his own
personal healer. oh noes! the priest has got aggro! so what! fight on! oh
noes! the priest has died and i'm not getting healed! blame the preist!

i despise people like that.

sorry. just my personal opinion... it's happened more than once

"bryan" ...

two different points !
In a classical group where the warrior tanks and the priest heals, your job
as a warrior is to save the priest.
I know, I tank !
The priest has to watch the bars of everybody, ut is giving priority to the
tank, and the tank has to watch everybody's aggro but is giving priority to
the priest.

Now, about a "non healing" priest, it is as stupid as a "non tanking"
warrior.
You can spe as you want, a furrior warrior will still be able to tank in a
group, and a shadow priest will still be able to heal.
Long debate, of course, but as a shadow priest, you do not REALLY want the
warrior to die, i swear you ^^
