Been a while since I played OF, and I can't quite picture exactly the spot
you seem to be stuck in- could you give a more detailed description of the
situation you're stuck on? There's almost always a relatively easy trick to
those things, once you find what it is. You're probably just attempting to
get past some tough spot using the blunt-force method, when trickier stuff
is called for.

I just finished this section a couple of days ago. It's not really
that hard. The hardest part is when you have to time a run down the
tunnel in between flame bursts, and then face off against creatures on
the other side immediately after. Just time the run, get to the end,
and immediately jump to your right onto the ledge. Turn around
quickly to face your enemies, then strafe right until you're behind an
obstruction that juts out of the wall - if you duck, you have complete
cover. Now just crawl up the obstruction slowly, crouching, until you
can just see your enemy's heads, and pick them off with a pistol.
