Tools like CrapCleaner can help with (some) "removed the software but it left stuff in the registry" problems. Free; download here: http://www.ccleaner.com/ While you're at it, now might be a good time to run a spyware remover or two, and perhaps your favorite virus scanner (off a bootable CD). Installing the latest stable driver for your graphics card (or re-installing, if you already have the latest) and re-installing the version of DirectX that came with Oblivion are long shots, but might be worth a shot. If you're overclocking anything, stop. Go into your BIOS and set the conservative defaults, at least temporarily to see if the problem goes away. |
