in felwood, i came across an alliance giant called "arei" who was neutral
(name is coloured yellow) and flagged as pvp. i believe there is also
another giant in ashenvale who is flagged as pvp and his name is coloured
red (agressive?)

are there any horde giants? i don't remember seeing any...

Arei gives a quest to horde as well as alliance and he cannot be
killed by both due to his neutral state.
The q starts when you kill the demon lord up in the northwest of
felwood (forget his name) and he will drop a flute. Bring this
flute to the people in the sanctum and repair it. Afterwards you
can summon Arei and he gives you a q to accompany him a while.
Help him kill all attackers and get the reward.

Around patch 1.07 they made the track you had to accompany Arei
much shorter and therefore much easier. No challange any more.

i beg to differ

i was farming globes of water when a hunter turned up with arei and
started wiping out everything. i thought it was a bit unfair that this
hunter should be using a giant to help him kill mobs so i attacked it. i
ended up being attacked by arei, a toxic horror the hunter and his pet.

i concentrated on arei and killed him. after a quick heal, i went for the
hunter and killed him which had the side benefit of making his pet
disappear. i another quick heal and i killed the toxic horror.

i then carried on grinding and let the hunter run off when he rezzed. he
did return with a bunch of friends but my pvp had turned off by then

do you know if there are any horde giants?


doh! i didn't realise the hunter was on a quest... that must have really
peeved him off. now i know, i'll stay out of the way.

i'll have to give it a go
