Yesterday I saw a lvl 60 troll shaman killing newbies at Sentinel Hill.
Eventually a lvl 58 gnome warlock appeared and killed him (didn't seem
to be hard). However, the gnome warlock was riding a griffin while he
was fighting! He wasn't moving particularly fast and he was hovering
on the ground level (just like any griffins you see in Hinterlands,
for example). I had never seen anything like that before. How is that
possible? This happened on EU-Bladefist server, not a test server.
I asked him about his mount, but he didn't answer.

Or is my game bugged? Maybe he flew there from Stormwind and the
graphics were stuck for some reason...

I've had that bug too, in Silithus. I went to the flightmaster and got on
the gryphon but it didn't take off. Instead I could move around like normal.
I didn't do much experiencing with it, since on my way up to the
flightmaster I was attacked by a hunter 4-5 lvls higher than me and I just
wanted to get out of there (I got out of combat only 1-2 seconds before
talking to the flightmaster, maybe that had something to do with it?).

Anyway, I logged out and in again and found myself on the gryphon, flying
away from Cenarion Hold. The rest of the trip was a bit strange too. After
flying over the Gadgetzan FP (I was going to Theramore) I started flying
very low, and eventually into the ground and underneath it. Then, when
reaching Steamwheedle I was sent back to Gadgetzan, flying backwards just
like rewinding a movie. After hovering at the Gadgetzan FP for about a
minute the trip continued like normal to Theramore. Very strange, too bad I
didn't get a video of it

I had this bug, too. I was in westfall, around may/june 2005. My
lvl18 warrior waited near the griffin rider for a friend and when
he arrived he does not went by foot but flew by griffin to
moonbroke with me. When I asked him, how is this possible, maybe
he has learned a way to navigate a griffin or he has tamed one
(he was a pala, but I was a newbie ) he said, that he does
not know what I want, actually on his screen he was walking just
regulary.

Its a funny bug IMO,
lets you standing with your mouth hanging open and scratching your
head, lol
