Default A dissertation on trolls (large water blood mother dead)

An alleged friend once called me "Master of the obvious," and he was right.
Since he was a TV weatherman, this was an unusual cir***stance for him.

Usenet is just a part of life. Often louder and ruder, but nothing here you
haven't seen before with a large group of friends. Especially if they were
all drunk at the time.

People only have power over you if you give it to them. My blood pressure
goes up dangerously when I hear somebody say, "So-and-so has ruined my
life." or "So-and-so has ruined this newsgroup."
If you support somebody's efforts to disrupt the conversation, the troll
will have succeeded. But only because you helped them do it.
Look- do I have to spend several lengthy convoluted paragraphs refuting the
charge "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!"
No rational person would believe that, and you probably didn't know this
horrible canard had been made until I told you.

Killfiles are only a crutch.... it's dead easy to skip over the headers and
not read the obvious crud. If you must read via Google you have my
sympathy, but there are plenty of free news servers about that will let you
use a reasonable client to do a little pre-screening for you.
As for me, I take note of the people who simply cannot resist fighting with
trolls, and eventually I may choose to ignore them. Works just fine.

That's all I have to say on the subject. Future posts will be on boring
things like the new loti in my

Small farm pond
Large water feature

Take your pick.

Default A dissertation on trolls (have water snake fish ponds)

ak! Did I do that??

How about the standard rec.ponds answer to
problem trolls in the pond?

If you discover a troll in your pond you have a
few options:

Attach them to the electric fence.

Dump them in a strong solution of potassium permangnate.

Dice them into koi sized bits and feed to the fish.

Stake them out as bullfrog prey.

Find a nice water snake for them to play with.

Introduce them to the nearest Hit Heron.

Or slather them in plaster, paint them in bright
colors and put them out as a lawn ornament.

Default A dissertation on trolls (have watch)

I actually have a garden gnome, made by a family friend during her
psycho-ceramic phase. He's a bit worse for the years and a bit faded
(aren't we all?). Maybe I could set him on the shore to watch the
previously mentioned new Lotus.

wow!
A pyscho-ceramic phase.
I like the sound of that,
as a recovering crafter.
(I donated 20 bags of craft supplies to the
Goodwill last summer... it was liberating!)
