Thanks for the information you shared with me regarding turtles.
I already have in place everything you listed in turtle needs. Out of
all of the turtles that are available, I have finally decided on
Painted Turtles. They seem to have a good combination of not being
too large, being friendly, hardy and not too carnivorous.
One more question for you, if you don’t mind. Do you have any
fish or other critters in your pond? Have you noticed if your turtle
eats them?
Thanks, Glenn

Just jumping in

I think turtles are more scavengers than active carnivores. I've watched
goldfish swim right in front of him and all he does is brush them aside so
he can get at his turtle pellets.

eats them? >>

The turtles shared their pond with koi, goldfish and bullfrogs. Had no problem
with anyone eating each other ;-)
The turtles would get right in there with the fish to eat fish chow. And they
both would go after garden and aquatic snails.
