Default DISPLAY varaible?

Suddenly cfg-update stopped working, I run xhost + localhost on another
console, so it is not that.
Running winsetup for win4lin as su - root I get the following error.

ERROR: the DISPLAY environment variable is not set.
This must be set properly to use winsetup,
because this is an X client program.

Where is this varaible and what is it to be set to? I have not had this
problem with my 4 other gentoo machines.

Mike

Usually that's:

% export DISPLAY=:0.0

Hope that helps,
Michael
