Just emerge xorg-x11 (not "xorg") rather than xfree and you should be fine. Just remember that the config file is now xorg.conf , and your fonts (for FontPath) are in /usr/share/fonts .


Well, for an end-user's perspective, xorg-x11 will be the one getting updates, even if you don't care about licenses.
