Hi,
I have two desktops(WinXP) and one notebook(Gentoo) connected to cable modem via a Gentoo box. How can I monitoring the traffic of each desktop or notebook ? I have mrtg on my gentoo server, but seems I can only configure it to monitor the in and out through the server. but I really want to see the fraction of each box inside my home network. nagios seems too professional and complicated for me, Any package easy to set up ? Thank you! regards, Lingyun -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list |

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1 Search the mrtg man pages and do***entation for promiscuous mode and set it up for your internal interface. This way, your nic will receive every packet transmitted through your local network - at least if you don't have a learning hub. Those things remember mac addresses for ips and route traffic for a specific ip address only to the port where the ip is attached.
