Default BigDesktop with ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 on Mandriva?

I have two monitors (the built-in 1680x1050 of the portable's LCD and an
external Acer AL2216W at 1680x1050). The command

aticonfig --initial=dual-head --screen-layout=right

produces a correct display, but I can't move windows between monitors.
:-( I've tried the directions for big desktop without success.

Is there an easy way to do this?

Paul

Under Section "Screen" for Screen0 I have a line that says
Viewport 0 0
and for Screen1
Viewport 1601 0

giving me one on the left at 1600x1200 and same on the right, for wide
desktop.

In your case, try 1681 0, for the righthand monitor; see if it works.

Unfortunately, makes no change at all. Here's the current xorg.conf:

Ok, it's good you pasted it. This bottom part that I left here, change
that to screen 2 and put a similar line in the OTHER device section up
higher, but for that one make it Screen 1. This will make the whole
thing consistent. Leave those lines--the viewports in there. Now cross
your fingers.

Oh and don't just sit there---restart X while you're at it =) Either
init 5 at the command line or service dm restart at the command line
or CTL-ALT-BS right at the GUI.

Or just logout from your desktop environnement than select restart X11
server option in the login menu (safer).
