Installed system: Mandriva 2007 Powerpack 32-bit version.
Updates: I have as always applied all the Mandriva suggested updates.
Last Successful Action: On running sndconfig, my SoundBlaster AWE32/64
produces the expect voice.
Problem: When I insert an audio CD I get an Audio CD - KDE Daemon,
offering me two choices - 1. Open a New Window. 2 Do Nothing. Mandriva
responds correctly to the two choices. When I try Configure... on the
daemon I run into further problems.
Hoped for Response: That someone else has had this problem and can
suggest a solution.
General Comment: I have been successfully using 2007 as a scientific
workstation including the compilaton and execution of 'C' source code.

It sounds as though the system can't recognize your CD as an audio CD. Mine
opens KSCD. Another possibility is to open Amarok. Have a look through
your File Associations under KDE.

At the same time, I think that it is deeper than File Associations. Kscd in
2006 had a problem, and no matter what I did with File Associations, Kscd
was still the default. The only other suggestion that I have is that when
you get that dialog, create a new action with the button, to open it with
your choice of app.

Thank you for the comments Doug. I'll try your suggestions.
Interestingly I briefly had similar problems with 2006, but at the time
I assumed that it was a self generated glitch. At the moment with 2007
the system refers to the CD device as ATAPI:/dev/hdd.
