convert wmv files to dvd

I am trying to convert some wmv files to vob for a dvd and the darn
things will not convert without giveing me trouble.

I am using qdvdauther to put together the dvd menu.

it tries to use movie-to-dvd and transcode and mencoder to convert the
video files

can sombody tell me what to do to convert those files so I can make a
dvd out of them.

I use a little tool called DivXtools which works fine for me. Believe you
can get it from urpmi if you have it setup. If not go to
http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ and follow the instructions on how to setup this
easy way to download programs and needed packages.
There are many others available which I'm sure you will get replies on. It
just depends on what you like.

the link u sent me for the developer site was no goot the files were
gone, any other ideas for getting the divxtools or somthing else????

nice program except I have files in wmv format on my harddrive and I
want to burn a dvd of them, not rip from a dvd.

does anybody know of a tool that will convert wmv files to somthing more
open like mpeg or directly to dvd vob format?????

It will convert almost any other video format into mpeg2 ready
for authoring your own DVDs.
urpmi devede at the command line.

thanx, devede was not in the urpmi but I just got it from the authers
web site, after a bit of tweeking and playing I got it working properley
and so fat so good.

working, and all those windows based things were useless on linux but
