Default Removing files in kde ???

Using Mandriva 2006
kde 3.4.2
Tried to install amarok and made a mess of things.
Now Im trying to remove the mess.
Went into console and did su/password.
I then started konqueror and used the "tools"
"find file" utility and found all the files that have
amarok in there name.
I then tried to delete those files by pointing and
clicking on them and using shift+delete and I get a
little window that ask's if its ok to delete and I
click on delete but either nothing happens or else I
get a window that says the file does not exist.
I could use some help here as I dont know where to
go next........naaawwwww,Im not going there.LOL

snip

How did you try to install amarok? It sounds as though you didn't use the
package management tools in 'configure your computer', or the command-line
tools generally known as urpmi, which make package installation and
removal very very easy and are one of Mandriva's 'unique selling points'.

Right, one way to try. Get into the terminal

su root
Give password
# rpm -qa | grep amarok

Them # rpm -e amarok [whatever]

If an RPM was used to install, then urpme or the 'Look at installed
software and uninstall software packages' in 'Configure your computer'
should be able to manage the un-install.
