I've posted this before but no answers yet.

The GTK file "Save as" dialog takes a long time to appear
(about 30 seconds) when I'm running KDE 3.4. It's OK under Gnome 2.10
This problem appears in firefox and for example gnome-screenshot

I've not got any removable media connected. And my ~/.gtk-bookmarks is
empty.

Subsequent uses within the same app are OK. Its just the first one that
seems very slow.

It's something to do with some interaction between KDE
and GTK apps.

Seems to be fixed now. First I upgraded KDE from 3.4 to
3.5.1(SeerOfSouls) but that made no difference.

Then I upgraded Gnome from 2.10 to w.12(Cooker) and its gone away. Dont
know why.

From the few 'straces' I did - It seemed to be something to do with
'Orbit'?? Which got upgraded.
