No, honestly, I'm just trying to see if I can post to this particular group
via my ISP's news-server. Yesterday I couldn't even though the group is
listed, so here goes ...

Where did you get your X-Face from?

Tis a poor thing, but mine own.

I made it myself; pixel by pixel using Windows 'paint' and saved as a
two-bit .bmp file, then 'coded' using a free Windows graphic-to-X-Face
utility called 'Winface'. The Linux Way would be something like this
<http://www.contactor.se/~matsl/HowtoCreateXFace.html>.

There are web-based utilities for converting images to X-Faces at
<http://www.dairiki.org/xface/> and
<http://www.mythic-beasts.com/tools-toys/xface/>.

And how did you create your tux?

I downloaded an image from http://www.isc.tamu.edu/~lewing/linux/
and went to one of those sites that converts images to face data..

In Knode, just disable 'show fancy headers'.. The faces will go away.

The only problem is that the header loses the graphic border.
I think they should have a way to just turn off whether X-face
is interpreted or not.
