Sorry NG,

i try now for a few weeks to start ppp0 on boot or login.
I don't know what the problem is - i allways have to start the
redhat-config-network and activate the ppp0.

Any ideas?

Robert

P.S.: Sorry for my bad english - i hope you all know what i mean.

We have no idea what you are trying. Tell us. We also do not know what
you really want to do.
(Note-- ppp0 is not something you start. I think you may mean ppp or
pppd-- I state this since you may be confused and be actually trying to
run ppp0)

Okay - let me try to explain...

i configure with redhat-config-network my t-dsl account and now i reboot
my system and i login as a simple user and want to surf the inet. My
system tells me now that i have no connection.
I have to get su and activate ppp0 with redhat-config-network and then it
works fine...

So the question is how to start the connection every time i login without
i have to do anything else then start mozilla or another internet browser...

]Okay - let me try to explain...

t-dsl? That sounds like an adsl connection. Does your ISP use that
abortion of pppoe? If it is a simple bridge adsl connection, then dhcp
is your friend, etc.

The file to use to stick instructions into is /etc/rc.d/rc.local
Just stick the appropriate command into its end.
