Linux computer won't start with monitorcable connected - help!
Hi group(s)!
I am a linux-n00b so please don't flame me if this is the silliest
question ever.
My linux computer won't start without me physically disconnecting the
monitorcable. I just have to disconnect it for a second, but it _must_
be disconnected for the computer to actually start decompressing the
kernel (or OS).
I have tried several linux versions and distributions, but the problem
persists. Have installed Mandrakelinux 10 and 10.1 and Fedora Core 3 and
4 (that's why I crossposted), but the problem is there in all OS versions.
I checked and double-checked all settings in the BIOS but they are ok -
nothing wrong there.
My specs:
MSI K7T Turbo mainboard (K7 mainboard)
AMD Duron 800 MHz
512 MB RAM @133 MHz
20 GB Maxtor 7200 RPM HDD
Diamond Viper 770 (TNT2/RIVA) 32 MB videocard
Samsung SyncMaster 753DF monitor (connected through an analog cable)
Did anyone else experience this problem and maybe find a solution for it?
