They is a _module_ for that (in stock Slackware v9.1): modprobe brige
Well, i have never setup Linux as a (801.2d spanning tree) brige, yet.
But you need the "brctl" command (and for filtering "etables"): http://www.math.leidenuniv.nl/~buytenh/bridge
I think they all do ...
I am sure (801.2Q) VLANs are supported too (that i /have/ used):
modprobe 8021q
Then you'll need the "vconfig" utility to configure it:
