Hi,

whenever I start vi for editing, the following error will print on the
screen when i write to the file and quit :

'# is illegal during initialization'

anyone have any ideas what's wrong with it? Thanks

Hi,

one of the first rule when using linux is to search the man pages for
related bugs reported. and that I did, I welcome your suggestion but
obviously you have no idea what's exactly is my problem. I would suggest
that provide assistance only when you have the resources.

Btw, the the problem is with elvis packages, I bet you have no idea that
slackware are using elvis as the replacement for vi. it's symbolical
link to elvis.
