Default Errors when connecting USB harddisk...


Although my problem looked a little different (it connected OK but hung
after a few MB of data transferred), maybe you try setting the
log2_irq_thresh parameter to the ehci_hcd module to values larger than
0. Start with 6, if that works, work yourself downwards. I had to give
it a 4 to work with my zoo of USB disks.

I added the following line to /etc/modprobe.d/options:
options ehci_hcd log2_irq_thresh=6

Note that you will, most likeley, have to rebuild your initrd afterwards.
