Default Google Sketchup

Is there any prospect of a Linux version of this excellent program?
Doesn't seem to want to work under wine.

Cheers

According to this page
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=6842

o Distribution - Test date - Wine version - Installs? - Runs? -
Rating - Submitter
o Current Ubuntu 7.04 "Feisty" x86_64 (+ variants like Kubuntu) - Jun
19 2007 - 0.9.38. - Yes - Yes - Bronze - Ken Geis

Absent the columns and table display available at the page, that sez
that Ken Geis checked out the current v. 6 of sketchup on Ub Feisty
about 6 weeks ago on a recent wine and found it to install and run and
gave it a bronze rating as to functionality which bronze means
"Application works, but it has some issues, even for normal use;" -- the
classes are platinum, gold, silver, bronze, and garbage.

It installs and starts up all right but it is not usable. Blank menus
don't help for starters.

Translation: application installs and loads but does not run.

On 2007-08-01, Ian Thompson-Bell <ianbell@ukfsn.org> rambled on thusly:

THat would be a question for Google's Sketchup support team, not for this
newsgroup. However, Google seems to be determined to start releasing more
and more of their products for Linux. Your best bet would be to convince
one of the developers on the Sketchup team to build a Linux port on their
personal project time.
