Grip works fine for me (Kubuntu 6.06.1 with KDE 3.5.4). In fact it is
just a graphical frontend for ripping and encoding which is done by
other tools so you will have to install cdparanoia for ripping, lame for
mp3 encoding and grip of course.

To be able to install them you will also have to enable the Universe and
Mutiverse repositories in your package manager, see details here:
