Ralink rt61 wireless drivers working
No, I use scripts to bring my wireless up. Network manager was
one of the first things I uninstalled, when I got crashes with the
original drivers. Also network manager does not do the MAC-hopping I
need sometimes.
I use rutilt to monitor/administer my wireless. You have to
bring it up as root, though, if you want to alter any hardware
parameters. As a monitoring program it works fine as user. (get it
from the serialmonkey page, and if that does not work, ask the author
for a cvs version, or to put a CVS version on the page. (The cvs
version DOES work with the latest ralink drivers - its what Im using)
PS I typoed (as always). I meant that ralink are much better
THAN realtek. Nice open source support, and as cheap as. There is no
way realtek 8185L works under linux. It's kernel version-specific.
Change the kernel from the recomended one, and it's broken.
