Default Sat B2 Quality vs New receiver (receiver sony)

I have had Sony SAT B2 receivers for about 6 years. Will a new receiver have
better picture quality than these old ones? Or is the only difference in the
menus? If so is there a difference in picture qulaity between different
brand receivers?
Thanks
John

I REPLACED BOTH OF MY SONY DSS RECEIVERS THAT I BOUGHT NEW BACK IN 1995,
WITH TWO NEW SONY SAT-A65 IN 2002. THE VIDEO SEEMED THE SAME, BUT THE
UNIT IN A NUT SHELL IS AWESOME COMPARED TO THOSE EXTINCT UNITS.

I believe the dish and LNB that came with the SAT B2 are not compatible with
the newer receivers, so you'll have to replace the dish too.

No, the dish should work fine. The incompatiblity resides in Sony using a
slightly different dish and pole setup so if you were to replace the dish
then you'd have to replace the pole as well.

Enjoy!
