Default PAL DVD to NTSC (yet another post)

Found the following on the web:

1) * Demux the video and audio streams.
2) * If the video is interlaced, deinterlace it to make it
progressive. If it is already progressive, skip this step.
3) * Resize the video to 720x480.
4) * Encode the video to MPEG2 at 25fps progressive.
5) * Run DGPulldown on the video MPEG2 stream to flag it up to
29.97fps (using the 25fps --> 29.97fps conversion).
6) * Mux the audio and video into a program stream, or author a DVD
using the audio and video streams.

My question is, which software to use for steps 1,2,3,4 and 6 ?

Hi

In my opinion there are some mistakes in your procedure:
4) * Encode the video to MPEG2 at 23.976fps progressive not 25fps
5a) needs to be inserted between 5 and 6: convert audio from 25fps to
23.976fps

used sw:
1.) pvastrumento
2.) I dont' use this step, I always leave the videos interlaced
3.) avisynth
4.) cinema craft encoder(frameserve with avisynth, so 3) and 4) is one step)
5.) pulldown.exe
5a.) besweet
6.) either TMPEGEnc to mux back to mpeg or TMPEGEnc-DVD-Author to directly
author a DVD from the elementary files.

If you have found a tool that can convert from interlaced to progressive
then please let me know.

Regards
Peter
