750 GB is available, but expensive, on a $$/GB basis.
500 GB is very affordable, hitting just under $0.30/GB before
Thanksgiving, and rising to a little over $0.32/GB thereafter.
Arrays of 1 TB (consisting of four 250 GB drives) are available, some
with "three way" connectivity (USB 2.0, Firewire, E-Net 10/100).
E-net 10/100/1000 is available on some products.
The idea of an external array was interesting until it was recently
discovered that, with the proper third-party driver software, a
PowerMac G3 or G4 could host 2 TB (using 500 GB drives) or 3 TB (using
750 GB drives) or 4 TB (using the soon-to-be-available 1000 GB drives).
My G4 PowerMacs generally have 2 TB installed.
