Default Component sets for rear speakers? (speakers)

The speaker setup I am planning for my car will contain 4 speakers and
1 subwoofer. I will definitely be using a high end component set for
the front speakers. The rear speakers are still debatable. My current
rear speakers are regular 5.25" coaxials. In my new setup, I am
definitely putting in 6.5" speakers in the rear, components or not.

Is it a waste of money to buy a component set for use as rear speakers?
Would I be better off just using regular coaxial speakers?

Another thing I was wondering is, what would a pair of 6.5" midbass
drivers sound like in the rear? Would they still sound good with a sub?

I would appreciate the pros and cons of using component sets, coaxials,
and midbass drivers for rear speakers. Any other advice is also
appreciated.

Thanks

Probably. And a third option would be to use the woofer components
without the tweeters. You can buy the drivers new alone a lot of times.

Why wouldn't they?

It would be a waste of money if it was my money, but I'm a cheap bastard. I
suppose it depends on what you want. I'd put the fronts in first and try
and estimate what else you need. The size of your car, speaker locations,
and whether or not you care what it sounds like in the back should be considerations.

Well, I suppose you could overlap the their freq range and get too much
high bass, but that's what crossovers are for.

I think the question you have to answer first is what kind of soundstage do you
want? I wanted a front soundstage, so anything the drew more attention to the
rear speakers wasn't part of the plan. They are just there for fill, to make
the soundstage more 3 dimensional. They wouldn't handle as much volume as the
front, so power handling wasn't as crucial. If you will use subs, then adding
more bass handling to your rear speakers is not a good way to spend your money
either.
