Yep, the only DVB FTA (clear) Eurosport is on there (but in German):
Astra 1H (19.2E), 12226.50H, 27500, 3/4, NID: 1, TID:1091 - TP:91.
Bonge must already be receiving the analogue signal, which is the only
FTA Eurosport left on any sat (I think):
Astra 1C (19.2E), 11258.50V, PAL, TP: 4

Last time I checked, which was when the Dakar rally was taking place,
that 19.2E FTA analogue signal had a selectable English sound channel.
Enjoy!

The dish will be ok for digital, just replace the LNB with a
digital one.

I still watch Eurosport on analogue in English.

Neither do I, when eurosport goes off analogue then I will
have a dish to run another digital setup.

There is no difference between a digital LNB and an analogue one, though a
newer one may give a better signal than an older one on both ...

Default Eurosport on free-to-air digital satellite? (receiver)

I, too have an old Amstrad analog receiver/decoder which still works well,
but receives only the German channels and about four channels from Eurosat.

(1)What do I need to be able to see the programmes from Italy and any more
programmes than the existing analogue ones from the Astra satellite?

(2) XXX --How much will it cost? ---XXX

(3) Would I still be able to keep the Amstrad system, i,e., could I switch
the UHF from the LNB from one decoder to the other?

I live in Manchester. The only signal that ever shows poor strength here is
SAT1, and then only in pouring rain.

(4) Are there any satellite magazines in English or German still available
in the UK? I know very little about satellites and digital TV and would like
to learn.

P.S., My computer is a RISC OS one and does not support "Windows"

G.H.Ireland.

Mr G H Ireland <igor@orpheusmail.co.uk>

Eurosat? Eutelsat Hotbird at 13e? Sounds like a Astra/Hotbird receiver.

A new DVB-S (digital) receiver box. Maybe a new universal LNB.

Analogue (PAL, NTSC or Secam) and digital receivers differ, but
can use similar antennas. If you have an analogue set, you don't
need a new "digital dish", but maybe a modern LNB and re-aiming.
See http://www.selkirkshire.demon.co.uk/...t/raihelp.html
(From http://mjr.towers.org.uk/comp/astefaq.txt )

GBP 60-100, at a guess.

Possibly. Some digital receivers have LNB 'pass-through' connections but
I don't know how that works in practice. Maybe someone else knows more?

What Satellite is still going. You can also find some info online,
via the FAQ linked above or

Hope that helps,
