Default Foxtel Digital - 2 Questions

Hi Guys
I just signed up for Foxtel Digital

Two Questions

1. I have ADSL, will Foxtel provide a line filter once they install the new
phone point?
I was told when signing up that it would not effect my ADSL so I can
only assume they will supply me
with a filter. What has been the case with others?

2. I can't find any mention of the Basic package details anywhere on the
Foxtel site, after my first month I will probably
start with basic but can't find a list of channels anywhere on the
Foxtel site. I'm guessing it's everything that you get with Big
Value minus a couple of channels? Seems Foxtel are giving people the
impression that the starting price is $68 and not $48.95. I mentioned
this to the salesperson who seemed to take offence. My opinion is they want
people to believe that Big Value is the starting package so they can get
more opposed to the Basic Package. The only reference to the 48.95 is in
small print that you find in the newspaper ads / mailouts or maybe I have
just missed something here?

Thanks

Simon

Add $30.00 to the cost either at instal or later if you want to connect the
in-line filter yourself. I suugest you get the FOXTEL instal tech to do it
there and then, that way if there are any problems he/she fixes it.

and Foxtel Digital Magazine: $94.95

Hi,

I have ADSl but the installer did not have a filter with him. He dropped one
in a few days later. No Charge for the filter.

For the return path - maybe you should read a few older posts. This topic
has been done to death.

hmm, why are phone lines involved? Why can't the uplink be through
the cable network itself?

Hmm. Why do you keep asking the same stupid question and ignore the multiple
posts on this very subject in this newsgroup?

Because I'm not a regular here, and it didn't seem like a
topic that would generate much interest, so I did not search
first.

Asking the same stupid question? This is the first time I've
ever asked such a question. In fact, I haven't even posted
here for months. What are you going on about?

I forgot to ask the installer if he had a digital line filter for the new
phone extention. It doesn't seem to affect the ADSL connection or the
operation of the STB by not having one, so i'm not gonna bother.
