Default Nero 5 file formats

HI,
I have a question about what file format to use when burning a DVD with Nero
Burning Rom v. 5.5.10.56
I used DVD Decrypter & DVDShrink first as the guides suggested but when I
got to Nero to try & burn the DVD I was stumped - do I use DVD ROM (ISO),
DVD Video, DVD-ROM (UDF) (UDF/ISO), (BOOT) OR DVD COPY?
It was my first attempt - I used DVD Video - got a couple of error messages
but continued anyway. It didn't work, but I used a DVD-RW disc just in case
(learnt that here), now it is all erased & ready to burn again.
TIA for any assistance.
Another thing, forgive me if this is a really dumb question but... do you
have to format a DVD-RW before using it?
Thanks & Cheers Jenny

Use the Wizard.

Select Compile a New DVD - Click Next
Select Other DVD Formats - Click Next
Select DVD Video - Click Next
Click Next

In the right hand pane, select all the .bup, .ifo and .vob files from the
folder where you ripped them to and drrag 'n' drop them onto the VIDEO_TS
folder provided by Nero in the left pane.

Click the "Burn" Icon
