Default Prologic surround from sky (sky)

Isnt Dolby PLII supposed to create surroud sound from pure stereo only
scources aswell?
I suspect you may have an amp setup prob or a faulty amp. My Denon does a
great job with all Sky channels at producing sorround sound from the rears.
I have not noticed any problems with the sound.
Mike.

AIUI there is no such thing as Prologic ENcoding. However, a Prologic amp
(prefereably Prologic II) will take a plain stereo signal, as output from
any digibox (except via RF) and make a passable attempt to create a surround
sound field.

Prologic I create left, centre, right, rear channels. Prologic II also
creates some separation for the rear into separate left and right rear
channels and is generally a bit cleverer all round. It makes no odds whether
it is a plain digibox or Sky+ for Prologic or Prologic II to work.

What Sky+ can do in addition is to output a Dolby Digital bitstream that can
be decoded to create a true 5.1 channel sound, if the source material is so
encoded. At the moment that is only the case on the Movie channels.

Just a thought, but have you set the digibox to output stereo in its audio
option setup?
