The sad truth is that many people really think "video" means "VHS,"
since they've been using the terms interchangably for decades, and
calling a DVD a video would be very confusing to them (it certainly is
to my dad, who thought he'd ruined a DVD once by placing it near a
magnet). How many people had a problem calling cassette tapes and CDs
"albums," when they thought only LPs were "albums." I know some people
who still think that albums are always vinyl, and CDs are just CDs.
