I tried to tape Top Gear BBC2 tonight and it's just not showing in the Sky+
Planner. No failed recording, start missed - nothing in the planner.

I know it was there because it has put next weeks in via series link. I know
of two other mates who've had the same thing.

We're in West Yorks by the way.

Anyone else experienced this?

Yup, same here ...

Top Gear was in the planner and I noticed the red light came on at 20:00. I
noticed the red light had gone off by 20:50 (though could have been any time
earlier). Checked the planner and Top Gear had vanished. I haven't checked
series link yet for next week but assume it is there.

Presumably then this is a Sky transmission or software issue - at least it's
not the box (mine is 13 days out of warranty). And it's not a regional
issue, I'm just about as far away from you as one could get.

I had the same problem. I checked at around 20:15. The programme
was being recorded. However the 'Now and Next' banner incorrectly
displayed.

Now: The Good Life
8:00: Top Gear

The Top Gear entry was tagged as 'Recording'. And I confirmed this
by looking in the Sky Planner.

However when I checked again at 20:35, the N+N said (correctly)

Now Top Gear
9:00 Football Diaries

There was no record tag, and no sign of any Top Gear recording in the planner.
What had been recorded, had been erased.

I was also recording the D-Day film on BBC1 at the same time (20:00-22:00)
That did record OK.

The fault looked to me to be with the BBC. They did not move the N+N data
along after The Good Life had finished, and it confused our boxes when they
finally corrected the error sometime between 20:15 and 20:35 :-(

Same here....

Sky EPG problem apparently, make sure you report it to SKY, even just an
email..

I don't think they are too bothered about the inconvenience this causes to
their customers.

Does anyone know if these episode is repeated on bbc or anything??

Or any tivo owners, can you have a search in your nice 14 days of guide
data, as we Sky+ customers can only access 24hrs. Cheers

I think the same thing happened with 'Dead Ringers' on BBC2 last night
- it changed to 'Newsnight' and so cancelled the recording, had to
fight with it to get it recording again and so missed the start

This is indeed taking the piss, after I pay £34 (?) per month for it
as well...

Anyone know Sky's email address to which I can complain?

The EPG fault was replicated on BBC 2 Freeview apparently, and according
to a post on Digital Spy good old ****ogue PDC also failed, therefore
pointing
to a BBC error. The same transmission system produces the triggers that are
sent to the Sky and Freeview EPGs, and the Beeb's own PDC server.
You might get the Beeb to own up. The error should
be recorded on their transmission computer logs. However in that case
Sky would probably say it's got nothing to do with them, and certainly not
issue a refund. Unless of course they could fine the BBC for providing
duff EPG data (which probably is mentioned in the EPG contract).
