Default Trouble playing dvds (dvd)

I have a recently purchased IOMagic IDVD16DD 16X +R,=RW,-R,-RW, +R DL
burner. If I put a prerecorded (store bought) dvd in the machine it plays
just fine. If I put a dvd that I burned into it, it plays the menu, accepts
the menu choice and then sits there. If I take the same disk and play it on
my home machine it plays fine. This means the disk must be good.

Now, what is really odd is for the first week I had the device (I'm in week
two now) it worked just the opposite. It would play homemade disks but hung
on store bought ones. One day it just started to play them. I don't
remember making any changes to the system.

Anybody have any ideas or hints?

Thanks,

chuck

Get rid of it and get a decent burner like the NEC 3540.
