SOTA for $3500? Not likely. Take a look at the action on
www.avsforum.com for help.

Nonetheless, the wealth of knowledge and experience that is represented
there is quite amazing. With over 120,000 users, it's one of the most
active sites on the web, and certainly the most actve site that is
dedicated to home theatre.

Default what is best for $$$ (plasma)

hi JS1262 -

im not that familiar with those specific models, but I have done a ton
of shopping and research for an HDTV recently. For $3500 - for a
decent size screen - I think its clear your best bet is to get a large
screen Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) HDTV. I decided on a Sony Wega 36" XBR
800. It was around $2300 for the model with best picture features.
Its big and bulky and has a large back side- unlike some more sleek
ones ive seen from Samsung. Picture is AMAZING - and CRTs are alot
more durable and have a longer life than plasma tvs. $3500 would
not really put you in the market for a very large plasma hdtv, but if
you are decided on that route- here are 2 links that I found VERY
helpful, as well as info on all kinds of HDTVs:

product reviews:

http://reviews.cnet.com/Televisions/...501490id=10847

"consumer reports" type website which summarizes reviews from
reputable sources:

http://www.consumersearch.com/www/el...tvs/index.html

hope this helps- good luck,

Mike

RP CRT still represents the best value per $$$ spent but that will probably
change soon.
Onecall.com has some very attractive HDTVs on sale in your price range right
now in both flat panel and rear projection fixed pixel displays. For
example the JVC HD52Z575 52 Inch HD-ILA is selling for $2999. The price
gap is narrowing. Be sure to check them out.
