There are no advantages.

It was tossed out there among the mix of DVD offerings and has not gained
acceptance among the masses. It is doomed to die. Do NOT invest in this
format, you'll be wasting your time, effort and money.

The format offers drag 'n' drop, random read/write and most of the ease of
access of a hard disk, but apparently few users want/need this capability
from their DVD writer.
