This company Tri Star Home Theater and Chuck Woods buys customer returns and salvage products from salvage companies and installs these to unsuspecting clients' homes and may be representing them as new or closeouts units.
I’d avoid this guy/firm if I were you. I have just found out(from a guy) that this company sells reused items as possibly new ones ! And if you have the luck of getting an item which has been used for some several years now… imagine what “quality” you’ll get. The guy told me that Tri Star Home Theaters and Chuck Woods is a dishonest company and individual trying to buy as is products, imperfect customer returns products and reselling to his unsuspecting home theater clients . He is engaged in the business of installing home theater equipment as you may know, but instead of using new units, he would go out and source used, and potentially damaged units to install for his client’s. He may or may not be disclosing this fact to you but anyway now people started to find out about this. He placed an as is order for an “untested customer returns” 50” Plasma TV from a firm I don’t want to disclosure. Then he went to the firm’s warehouse to pickup, then insisted on performing a bench test on this unit to make sure it’s functional. They told him that "guaranteed working" units will cost 20% higher and it came with a warranty. The buyer then became upset and decides to write a bad review about the company (even when they refunded his money). So I just wanted to warn you out about this guy and his firm. As far as I know he works around Newport Beach, CA. If you have are thinking of doing business with this company or individual, you may want to be careful when doing business with this Tri Start Home Theaters. And as a client you may want to double check the equipment you receive from him. Most people looking for new equipment for home installations, would never buy from a firm that actively sources “returns” and used electronics units possibly to significantly cut his equipment costs at his client’s expense. Buyer Beware with this company! Here's a link to his website: http://www.tristarhometheater.com/ |

I should know I am the owner, Jonathan Smith AKA Rhino Mart is a SCAM, Buyer Beware with this company! I bought a Plasma TV from them online, I only needed it for parts to repair a customers TV. The part I needed was on back order. My plan was to find a cheap TV use the parts to repair the customers TV, then wait until the backorder came in and fix the one I bought from rhino mart, and sell it as a refurbished unit. Rhinomart has a warehouse in Chino, Ca. when I went to pick the TV up, they said I could not plug it in or test it for DOA, then they said that if it was a working TV I would have to pay a $160 premium over and above the sale price. I refused and cancelled the order. A few days later they charged my CC a $160 restocking fee. I posted a negative feedback on ebay about the ordeal and I promptly received an email from the owner of rhinomart, Drawlon Tsang, He informed me that if I did not remove the negative post that he would blast the internet with negative info about my company Tri Star Home Theaters. I have repaired TV's for over 30 years. All reputable electronics wholesalers let you test the product defects. Rhino mart is a rip-off. Beware. Here's a link to his website: www.rhinomart.com
