I just ripped my first DVD. I had the program copy all the files of
the DVD to a folder on my hard drive. My question is, is there a way
of playing the files as if it were a DVD? When I try to play “from
folder” I get a message saying that format or something isn’t right.
With another program, I got it to play the intro but was unable to
click on any menu and it started from chapter 3. Is the only way I
can watch the movie by opening up the different VOB files separately?
Or is there a better way? THANKS!

i had the same problem! i actually copied the contents of the video_ts
folder onto the dvd but i couldnt play it in a dvd player.
i fixed the problem by copying the actual video_ts folder itself to the
i was using dvdfab to split a dual layer dvd and recordnow dx to burn.
hope this helps.

You gave us no clue as to which DVD player you’re using.
Here’s how you do it with PowerDVD:
Click “Open DVD file on hard disk drive”
Browse to where you ripped the DVD
Double-click on the first .ifo
Enjoy your movie.
