Hmmm - the 25th at the...State Theater? I took my daughter there a few
months ago to see Good Charlotte (please quit snickering). That place can't
hold much more than a few thousand people. What's up with the small venues?
Then again, it will be quite the intimate show.

Deep Purple have not played Birmingham, Alabama since the Burn tour. I
really hope they find their way here in 2004!

"Steve" <cutlipfamily@comcast.net> vrute-a:

Because they can't sell out bigger venues? But then again, I heard
they almost sold out Toronto pretty quick today. Or maybe they've just
chosen more intimate venues because they wanted to? Or, better a small
venue and longer show instead of a bigger venue and a boring package
tour with shorter sets? Besides, it's not smaller than the ones
they've been playing before when not on package tours, right? They've
done the Houses of Blues and the Beacons before.

Yeah, should be really cool! Those North American theaters are cool
venues!

I heard thru the rumor mill it will be Machine Head and then the
'greatest hits.' Will wait to see if this is true. Cool that they
will be playing smaller theaters. Getting my tix tomorrow (if they
don't sell out first). Purple never disappoints. As Ian Faith,
ex-manager of Spinal Tap would say, they are only playing smaller
venues because their fans are becoming more selective (or something
like that). BTW, Lizzy is having ex-Page/Plant drummer Michael Lee on
drums.

Hummmmmmmmm, by playing Machine Head aren't they allready playing their
greatest hits ??

What's with playing that album anyway ?? Hope for the new songs instead.
They are great, fresh, and original.
