Six Hundred Thousand (600,000) ppl show up at your Watkins-Glen mega-fest
and noone thinks of chugging along a tape-recorder....Okaaeeeyyy!!! :-/
That's how it goes, I suppose. Lower down in the newsgroup I asked if there
was a sound recording of the Watkins-Glen SummerJam of July 1973 where the
Grateful Dead headlines it. You've had ample time to respond to mY Request.
None of you did, so that leads mE to the assumption that none of you thought
to bring along a tape-recorder. Mot the promoters, mot the participants, mot
the audience, mot moone. Okkaeeyyy!
Hahahahaa

it's clear now...
What's worse is have you noticed the paucity of information ON the internet
regarding the Gig? I have. There's like ONE website devoted to Watkins-Glen
and that one is down half the time. It may even be down at the moment, I
don't know.
Some guy posted about 50 pictures or so that he snapped at Watkins-Glen. My
god in one of these rare photos is the speaker towers. My god they look like
they ascend up to the Heavens, man!
BUT what's the point. You ppl have a reputation for being rich in Grateful
Dead history and lore, but I don't see that much here on gdead. Perhaps you
were overrated.
If anyone wants to share any information about Watkins-Glen or have some
other information on links to the Happening, then by awl means you are
permitted to post it. I'm a connoisseur of mega-gigs like Watkins-Glen; as
you know I'm the only one to tape the mighty California Jam that happened
nine months after Watkins_Glen "while the whole world was sleeping, on
Nyquil."
Ok, I understand. I could've easily brought a Reg 8 camera into the Beatles
Show I went to on August 28, 1964 with no prob whatsoever. In fact, the
ticket-takers would've encouraged it :-)
