When the original Headbanger's Ball went off the air in the mid 90's,
a lot of people were upset and up in arms about it. There were a lot
of people petitioning and compaining to get it back on for years and
it finally came back in 2003. Of course it wasnt as good as the
original one was and didnt seem to generate as much interest. None the
less it still limped on until a few months ago when it was taken off
MTV2 for good and made online/web only. I just think its funny because
when it got taken off tv a few months ago there was like zero outcry
or reaction, maybe because it was on so late or maybe because its the
high speed internet era and no one cares about videos on tv.

Its still interesting to see how there was like no reaction at all to
this version being taken off tv as compared to the reaction for the
original Headbangers Ball when it got cancelled.

Its also interesting to note that MTV has put 120 Minutes back on the
air once a month on MTV2 and yet they feel there's no place on there
for Headbanger's Ball anymore. I'm pretty sure it has to do with metal
being "down" right now while alternative is on an upswing with all
these indie bands getting attention. Typical MTV style pandering to
the trends.
