Default Computers ruining my music

We all complain about how Maiden can't match their glory years...

Before computers came along I would listen to an album while I
did stuff around house or while driving. It was in the forefront
of my mind. Nowadays it seems like I only listen to CD's while
on the computer...Hence I failed to notice all the finer points
that can make a album great.

Example- I got Chemical Wedding when it was released and only
listened to it while playing computer games or chatting. It
wasn't until I listened to it while driving on a few long trips
that I understood it's greatness.

With AMOLAD I'm going back to my roots; listening to the album
while not on the computer. Then I'll make a judgment on how good
or bad it may be. I'm doing the same with BNW and DOD.

Just a thought (be it out loud to this newsgroup).

I'm in the same sort of boat... either I'm busy with other stuff
(usually on the computer at home or work) and am using the computer CD
player, or I'm not listening at all (watching sport or going out or
whatever). Makes it hard to properly get into stuff, and I tend to
listen to things a lot to make sure it's had a chance to sink in.

Just like me. I couldn`t concentrate on the music, so I put on the
headphones and lay down on the couch with closed eyes...

I really think you are on to something here.
I heard Breeg on the radio last night on the way to work.
It rocked!

I need to copy my disc to tape and listen to it in the car this weekend
while I am driving out to the campground.
Give it a proper listen.
I know it really did the trick for me with BNW also.
I liked the disc, but only a couple tracks really clicked (DOM and Thin
Line).
After listening to it in my car though, I really connected with it.

I reckon it is underrated... I really enjoy it, which it acheives
without being brilliant in any particular way. So it's gotta have
something going for it.

Interesting as they are two tracks that draw quite mixed reactions,
but I loved them both straight away.
