Ah, better ever than never, just heard album that become
one of my top 10 albums of all time...

Nevermore-Death heart in a dead word !

Album is so good, great vocal and lyrics, music, atmosphere...
Reminds me a little to Brainstorm-Soul Tempetation, similar feeling.
Top songs:
Heart collector,Evolution 169,Inside 4 walls,Belive in nothing
Thanks Ian, for downloading this masterpiece.

What do you guys think about this album ?

Nevermore are one of my favourite bands of the last 5-10 years, all their
albums are great. Many point to Dreaming Neon Black as their best work but I
think DHiaDW pips it. Their last album, Enemies of Reality suffered from a
horrible production but is in the middle of getting a remastering job done
on it by Andy Sneap...and a new album is due this year. Also, check out the
2 Sanctuary albums which feature most of the band that went on to become
Nevermore.

I love Narcosynthesis, and also you'll probably find one day that you
really like River Dragon - it's a song that grows on you for sure.

I have similar comments to Ian...

I was wondering now they'd do better than "Dreaming Neon Black", then
they released "Dead Heart..." and my question was answered.

However personally I'd say don't expect too much from their earlier
stuff - I find "Politics Of Esctasy" pretty hard going and the debut
album (self titled I think) is pretty good but I think someone that
started with "Dead Heart..." then tried the debut might think it's not
so good.

However I love the "In Memory" EP, and also I have one of the
Sanctuary albums that Ian mentioned, called "Into The Mirror Black".
I like that a lot and it's pretty clear that even back then, the
Nevermore sound was starting - just not quite as heavy and intense.
I don't have the first Nevermore album which is said to be somewhat
thrashier.

Refuge Denied is even better than ItMB...one of the MUST HAVE albums of US 80's metal.

It is a very good album indeed, not one of my top 10 of all time but
definitely top 5 of the year it came out.

It's the bands best work, very good. Dreaming Neon Black and the s/t discs,
plus the In Memory EP are good too. I don't care much for Politics of
Ecstacy or the newest one, Enemies of Reality.

And Sanctuary, the band that came before Nevermore but had some of the same
members, is even better.

Seems that everybody on the group like this album
Funny, i thought that i will never liked non-fantasy lyrics,
Nevermore made me change my mind...
Hmm, there is so much mystery in their lyrics, what
is Evolution 169 ?

So, "Dreaming neon black" + Sanctuary albums are
worth to check ?
"Enemies of reality" is not good ?

Looking on your web site, i noticed that you put
Falconer among fav. bands

And you moved "Songs of darkness..." on second place,
behind "Angel and the dark river"

Personally I thought EoR was a great album with an awful production.
Hopefully this re-release will sort that out. It`s certainly not as good as
DHiaDW which may be why some people were disappointed with it. I don`t
really understand the antipathy towards The Politics of Ecstasy either - got
some great songs on it, although I guess it`s not as instant an album as
others.

Truly an excellent CD, I like River Dragon especially. As other have
suggested check out the two Sanctuary albums also quite good. I Initally
heard Sanctuary on a compilation vinyl with Fifth Angel, and some others I
can't remember. What a great find that was.
