Default Iron Maiden own Destiny's Child now?

I guess Rod, Andy, Steve and co. are really going for the throat! At least
these acts will actually bring money to The Sanctuary Group taking the
burden off Maiden to bankroll the whole thing.

Beyonce's Dad Sells Music Company for $10M

HOUSTON (AP) - Beyonce Knowles' father has sold his music management
company, Music World Entertainment, to the London-based music group
Sanctuary for $10 million.

Music World Entertainment has managed Destiny's Child, Beyonce, Solange
Knowles, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and other artists.

Mathew Knowles will work at Sanctuary for at least five years as president
of its urban and gospel division and will continue to manage his roster of
artists. The urban category includes R&B and hip-hop.

Knowles will stay headquartered in Houston and told the Houston Chronicle
for its Thursday editions that the deal is "a real opportunity to grow the
music industry in Houston."

In another arrangement - a joint venture with Sanctuary and BMG
Distribution - he'll establish a tour agency and record label to develop new
acts. He'll also oversee a music publishing operation.

Knowles said the deal allows him more time to be creative. His plan is to
sign urban and gospel music managers like himself and "allow them to grow."

In buying Music World Entertainment, Sanctuary brings to its management
stable two of the biggest acts in pop music: Beyonce and the group she
fronts, Destiny's Child.

In 1989, Mathew Knowles - then a Xerox salesman - put together a singing
group of 10- and 11-year-old girls that included Beyonce and Kelly Rowland.
The group eventually became Destiny's Child. Recently, Knowles has been
showcasing new gospel talent.

Until when? Flash in the pan...I'd be highly surprised to see another
Destiny's Child album. And I highy doubt the next Beyonce album will do
well with the shape and face of music in the US changing. If they do
well, great! I couldn't be happier for the boys. But if not, it could
be a financial disaster.

I heard that Heihachi <LiveAfterDeath73@hotmail.com> said:

Naw, even if DC records nothing new, there's still plenty of acillary
markets for that kind of music as well as the publishing cash that
will come in forever (soundtracks, seasonal comps. etc.)... Not only
that if you don't think that the WW market for Urban/RB isn't a
sustaining one not only in the US but WW, then I don't know what to
tell you. This kind of radio/family freindly RnB always has a place on
playlists all over the world.

This is a great deal for Sanctuary if they market it correctly... and
that's the kicker. Can Sanctuary promote a new release in a
competitive market (while they do push current artists on the roster,
those artists have pretty static audiences). That will be telling,
from an industry point of view.
