Default JUDAS PRIEST / ARROW ROCK FESTIVAL

Anyone seen Judas Priest at the Arrow Rock festival in
Lichtenvoorde/Netherlands? I've been there and it was great! It was
worth waiting 14 years; Rob's vocals are as thrilling as in the old
days - he IS the Metal God!
Man, it was great; it were the two best hours of the last decade!
THE PRIEST IS BACK!!!

Some other bands who played that day are Ten Years After (great guitar
playing; liked their show); Motorhead (good laughter and some great
songs) and the Scorpions (what a bunch of losers!; the most stupid
outfits I've ever seen and a very irritating guitarplayer who wants to
be like K.K. but who is overacting - Judas blew them back to Germany!)

Hope the Priest will return in 2005 ...

How many Tom's do we have on here?
Anyway, I'll defend the Scorpions guitar player to this degree. He
doesn't look much like KK if you ask me. He also played some solos
back in the day, that I wish I had played.
Yeah, for the most part the Scorpions is hard rock or even hit rock.
They have done some horribly bad songs as well. But I don't think they
deserve so much scorn.

I was there and was prepared to view the Scorpions show with an open mind,
but I have to agree that it was NOT GOOD. The German accent and especially
the exaggerated moves of Rudolf Schenker were too much for me.

I liked Motorhead and of course Judas Priest was great. Additionally, I
would like to mention Y&T who again blew me away with a combination of
strong songs, great vocals and IMO the best guitar player of the day.

Come one guys, I don't think you can compare any of them!
Saw all three bands several times now ... all great in their own
particular way.

Y&T 's act was as strong as last year ... esspecially Dave Meniketti's
throat and guitar-performances.

But then the blast of Scorpions starting their act ... BOOOOMMMM what
a sound (on the outside stage) ... with a -I must admit- commercially
well-balanced setlist.

My first gigs by the Scorps and Priest were in the early 80ties ...
Rudolf Schenker IS famous for THIS particular stage-act.

And The Priest?
Back with a blast (and doing a world tour!) ... lots of oldies ...
good to see Rob Halford (and the other guys) having a good time ...
again.

I thought they retired about 1994 or something. They put out a live
CD, and the liner notes seemed to say they were done.

Yeah, this IS a good thing.
