Default TOP TEN METAL OF 2005

really? Well thanks for telling me, all this time I thought it was
good a album. Tom, just becaus eyou dont like it doesnt mean others
dont. I think it is a killer cd (I do have the european bonus import
version if that makes any difference) I played that cd alot a few
summers ago. BTW I agree that it is not as good as RIB,but that may
be the best thrash album of all time, so hardly anything by anyone is
as good (thrash wise).

If I pull out Nile they may never come back!

Yes I like both of them but to me their thrash music is different than
others. There is more passion in their music and not as much annoying
sounding drum work, if you can call Lars a drummer :-)

I like the vocals somewhat but I have always listened to bands mostly for
the playing of the instruments. Painmuseum's vocalist is so so but he fits
the music well. If I went by vocals I could never listen to Opeth's earlier
stuff because the growling is just plain bad. I find I mostly listen to
them because of their playing ability. On their latest, GR they mix up the
vocals quite a bit which is why I think its the Opeth album I like the
most, bye the way Mikael's regular voice isn't bad at all.

A bit of over reaction?

Wouldn't that be the plan?

So Megadeth and Metallica might be the only thrash metal bands you
like much at all?

Oh, no, I don't think he gets enough credit for his clean vocals.
He's not going to hit a ton of high notes, but is effective in his
range.

You could say that, I like some bands songs here and there but not enough
to buy the entire cd.

That one is far, far too easy. I assume you've seen the now classic
"Better Off Dead" ?

TWO dollars...

By the way, since you so highly rated it, and in general I've heard
it's a very funny movie I asked for the Old School DVD, and got it for
Christmas. Probably be watching it shortly.
I got a few others, Office Space being one. Which is a great movie,
if you haven't seen it.

Would you be interested in something like a best of from say,
Testament, Overkill, Exodus, Kreator, Forbidden, Defiance. Man my
brain memory isn't working too well on thrash bands tonight.
I'd just be interested in knowing what thrash bands did just a few
songs you might like. Since you usually label it "mindless thrash" or
"trash metal".

Basically there are a few (3 or 4) songs that I like from each of the above
bands you mentioned so a combined best of might interest me, if they were
the right songs.

That is the basic thing. They never seem to release the right
combination of songs for the various best of. I do know there's about
3 Testament best of things out there on Amazon. One or two Overkill,
but the rest I don't think there is.
Perhaps a thrash metal box set with 3 or 4 songs by all the
underground thrash bands might be interesting.
