Default I ran into Karl Logan over the weekend!

My family and I have been going to the Sterling Renaissance Festival
(http://sterlingfestival.com/renfest/) ever since we moved back to New
York in 2001. It's a lot of fun, and the kids love it. We usually go
once or twice each summer without incident, but today we got a special
treat. We were leaving the glassblowing demonstration and going to
listen to the hammered dulcimer player, when I saw Karl Logan (and his
lovely girlfriend) walking past. I just had to say hi.

I talked with Karl for around five minutes and was very impressed with
what an intelligent and articulate person he is. He verified that
Manowar are in fact working on a new album, and hinted that it may be
available "in time for Christmas." This backs up what I'd heard
earlier about a tour in early 2005, so it looks like we all have
something to ask Santa for this year.

Not sure I'd known it was him. I haven't seen many pictures of him.

Major cool.

Good news, I would have thought they would have made more af an album coming
out before the end of the year though. Most bands seem to blab off about a
new album a good year before it hits the stores! Let`s hope this next tour
will be the big tour they`ve been promising for the last few years...

Yeah, I agree that they should have made a bigger deal out of the
forthcoming album. I've suggested (email webmaster@manowar.com) a few
times that they should use the web site to host a "studio diary" with
news on how the band is proceeding on the new album, maybe with
mini-interviews with band members, or something similar. I got a
response that basically said "that's a great idea - just wait and see"
but there's been nothing of the sort since then.

Kings of Metal they may be, but Kings of the Web they are not. I think
that they could (to use the vocabulary of the US presidential election
saturating the news here) "energize their base" just by spending an
hour a week updating the web site. It's a PHP site that looks like
it's based on a pretty simple template, so updating it shouldn't be
too hard...

Sounds like a "hey, it's only a paycheck" sort of guy to me.

Yeah, It could be so much better. I guess it does cost a bit to run,
and then to pay someone to keep it updated well is probably more than
they want to pay.
